Black
urad dal is one of the richest sources of proteins and Vitamin B. Urad
dal is also good for women as it has iron, folic acid, calcium, magnesium,
potassium which makes it a healthy pulse. For those who do not eat meat or
fish, have black gram as it is rich in protein which is much required
by the body. It is a protein-rich dal for vegetarians. For those who do not eat
meat or fish. For strong bones and a healthy body, have urad dal.

black urad dal – 1 cup
Pepper
corns – 1table spoon
Jeera
seeds – 1 table spoon
Salt
– as per taste
Hing
– ½ tsp spoon
Rice
flour – 2table spoon
Oil
– for deep fry
Ghee
– 1 tbl spoon
Plastic
sheet - 1
Preparation:
Soak
urad dal over night apx 8 hrs, then strain water completely. Then add it in a
mixer jar and grind it into thick paste and coarsely without adding water.
Then
grind jeera and pepper into coarse powder.
In
a wide plate add the urad dal paste, rice flour, hing, water, jeera pepper
powder, salt and ghee, mix well like a chapathi dough. And make the dough into
small balls .
Spread
the plastic sheet apply some oil , then take the ball and place it on the
sheet, apply some ghee in your fingers and tap the balls and spread it into thin round vada.
Deep
fry the vadas one by one till it achieves crispy golden brown color.
We
can store it for 1 week.
